Reminder: Love One Another!

(This is a post from several years ago, but due to world events, I felt worth publishing again.  Blessings of Light and Love to all!)

The one tenet almost every religion has in common is to Love one another.  For this month dedicated to Love, here are some sacred writings from around the world.  These are listed by the approximate dates they were written based on texts found by scholars.

Hinduism: 3200 BC, From the Hitopadesa - "One should always treat others as they themselves wish to be treated."

Judaism: 1300 BC, from the Old Testament, Leviticus 19:18 - "Thou shalt Love thy neighbor as thyself."
 
Zoroastrianism: 600 BC, From the Shast-na-shayast 13:29 - "Whatever is disagreeable to yourself, do not do unto others."

Confucianism: 557 BC, From the Analects 15:23 - "What you do not want done to yourself, do not do to others."
 
Buddhism: 560 BC, From the Udanavarga 5:18 - "Hurt not others with that which pains yourself."

Shinto: From 8th century CE -  “The heart of the person before you is a mirror. See there your own form“

Christianity: 100's CE,  From -John 13:34-35 - “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Islam: 80's CE, From Sunnah - "No one of you is a believer until he desires for his brother that which he desires for himself."

Sikhism: From Guru Arjan Devji 259 (1563-1581 CE) - “Don’t create enmity with anyone as God is within everyone.”

Native American: From Black Elk (1890-1950 CE) - “All things are our relatives; what we do to everything, we do to ourselves. All is really One.”

Wicca: From the Wiccan Rede written in 1900's - “If it harm no one, do what thou wilt”
