Healing Prayers

Image
Albrecht Dürer  - Study of an Apostle's Hands (Praying Hands)  - Public domain The power of prayer to heal has been scientifically proven . I know in my life, I have seen miraculous healing occur when prayer was added to the mix. So, today, I would ask that we think about those in our lives who are ill, those who are suffering from pain or disease.  Let us all pray for them.  We don't know everyone's name, but the Creator knows and that is all that matters. Let us pray... Magnificent Healer of All, we come to You today from all over the world.  Please hear our prayers for the healing of our families and friends, please hear our prayers for the healing of those we do not know but who suffer from disease and pain.  Bring them Your Eternal Love. Bless them with balance of mind, body and spirit.  Give them Peace and Strength to deal with whatever comes their way. We thank You for all You give us.  Amen, Blessed be, Aho, So be it. *** One important point

International Day of Peace

By Gryffindor (Own work)  [Public domain],  via Wikimedia Commons Today, we observe the thirtieth anniversary of the UN International Day of Peace . On the UN website, there are messages from people around the world. The message of Peace is simple, international, multicultural, interfaith, and universal.  ALL humans have the sacrosanct right to live without fear of harm, be it physical, mental, emotional or spiritual.  How can one person make a difference?  We can practice loving kindness to all.  We can speak up when we see injustices done.  We can hold our leaders accountable for what is happening in the world by voting!  We can write letters to the newspaper showing the world around us that someone sees, hears, feels the way we do.    We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves. - Dalai Lama My prayer for Peace is this... Prayer of Peace    Looking up into the sky blue vault of eternity,   life seems so full of pea

Let Your Light Shine

Image
Hands Of The World by Fran Hogan  Public Domain   Last night, I joined with faith leaders from around the community to offer prayers, chants, songs, and poems in our various traditions in a service held for World Day of Prayer by Unity of the Pioneer Valley. The evening was filled with the Spirit! I was touched by the energy of the gathering, the gentle love and care we all took with each other and the lovely offerings each brought.  Truly this was a night when each of us let our Light shine! I wish I had a link to the entire service to share with you all, but I do have the poem I read as the Interfaith Minister for the evening.  May you find something that will awaken your Spirit, touch your Heart or inspire you to new thoughts. Your Light Amid the nightmare of dark memories That tear hearts asunder, Let your Light shine Like dew turned to liquid gems As the Sun rises over the mountains - Amid the days of manufactured lack
