Healing Prayers

The power of prayer to heal has been scientifically proven. I know in my life, I have seen miraculous healing occur when prayer was added to the mix.

So, today, I would ask that we think about those in our lives who are ill, those who are suffering from pain or disease.  Let us all pray for them.  We don't know everyone's name, but the Creator knows and that is all that matters.

Let us pray...

Magnificent Healer of All, we come to You today from all over the world.  Please hear our prayers for the healing of our families and friends, please hear our prayers for the healing of those we do not know but who suffer from disease and pain.  Bring them Your Eternal Love. Bless them with balance of mind, body and spirit.  Give them Peace and Strength to deal with whatever comes their way.

We thank You for all You give us.  Amen, Blessed be, Aho, So be it.

International Day of Peace

Today, we observe the thirtieth anniversary of the UN International Day of Peace. On the UN website, there are messages from people around the world.

The message of Peace is simple, international, multicultural, interfaith, and universal.  ALL humans have the sacrosanct right to live without fear of harm, be it physical, mental, emotional or spiritual.

How can one person make a difference?  We can practice loving kindness to all.  We can speak up when we see injustices done.  We can hold our leaders accountable for what is happening in the world by voting!  We can write letters to the newspaper showing the world around us that someone sees, hears, feels the way we do.

We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves. - Dalai Lama

My prayer for Peace is this...

Prayer of Peace  Looking up into the sky blue vault of eternity,
life seems so full of peace,
yet, in the reality of now,
war, hate, pain, d…

Let Your Light Shine

Hands Of The World by Fran Hogan  Public Domain
Last night, I joined with faith leaders from around the community to offer prayers, chants, songs, and poems in our various traditions in a service held for World Day of Prayer by Unity of the Pioneer Valley.
The evening was filled with the Spirit! I was touched by the energy of the gathering, the gentle love and care we all took with each other and the lovely offerings each brought.  Truly this was a night when each of us let our Light shine!
I wish I had a link to the entire service to share with you all, but I do have the poem I read as the Interfaith Minister for the evening.  May you find something that will awaken your Spirit, touch your Heart or inspire you to new thoughts.

Blessing for Teachers and Students

"Cordero" by Francisco Oller (1833-1917) -   Licensed under Public domain
Schools in the US and around the world have begun a new year of classes.  The following are prayers from around the world for teachers and students...

As School Starts
Great Teacher, we call to you - be in our schools - in our classrooms -  on our buses
Protect us and keep us safe so that teachers can share knowledge with our students and students can build on that knowledge -
Enlighten us so that we are able to see that happiness in this life is not about how much or how many, but rather about how we use our talents and who we touch in our lives -
Bless us to that we might be the best teachers and the students we can be, thereby making the world around us  the best it can be -
Amen! by LMN © 2014
